How it is worked out
- Own damage: IDV times the tariff rate for the class, zone, age and size, plus a CNG kit if any, less NCB on the result. Order as in the tariff's own specimen.
- Third party: the notified premium for the class and size. A hybrid takes 7.5% off, a CNG or LPG kit adds ₹60.
- GST: 18% by default. On a goods vehicle, third-party only takes 5%, and a comprehensive policy takes 18% on the whole premium, as most insurers show it. These come from search summaries, not a notification, so you can change them.
- Electric vehicles: the tariff has no own-damage rate, so you type the insurer's.
- Left to the app's full form: add-ons, OD discount, loading, LL to paid driver, passenger and driver PA, and restricted third-party property damage. The tariff has no rate for most of these, and sources conflict on LL, so nothing is filled in for you.

Common questions
Is this the premium the insurer will charge?
The third-party part should match, since it is notified. Own damage is an approximate guide from the old tariff, and insurers price it themselves. The insurer's quote decides.
Which classes does it cover?
Private Car, Two Wheeler, GCV, 3W GCV, Bus and Maxi, 3W PCV, Taxi and Misc-D, the same 8 as the app.
Why does an electric vehicle ask me for a rate?
The tariff prints no own-damage rate for battery vehicles (GR.46), so you type what the insurer gives.
Does it include PA owner driver?
Only if you tick it. The default of ₹750 for ₹15 lakh cover comes from one source, so you can change it.
